STAT: 92% of homeless mothers were physically or sexually assaulted.

STORY: “Grace” arrived at the Center in great distress, fleeing from a violent relationship with her husband, who was the father of her two children, Kali, an 8 year old daughter and Damon, a 1 year old son.  Fortunately, they arrived at time when our transitional housing program had an opening.  The family participated in all the Center activities, especially the mental health support and the children’s services.  Grace was able to address many of the reasons she had stayed in the relationship and is now much more confident in her ability to care for her family.  The opportunity to explore new resources helped Grace to re-locate in another area of California after successfully securing a new job.
